Suspension Bands - Synthetic proprietary suspension bands for suspended Concert Bass Drum stands. Fits the Abel Suspended bass drum stand, my Abel Gen II stand, and some others. Simply and quick to install. Store your Bass Drum upside down to equalize the stretch and they will last several years.
For original Abel stands you do not need to take the suspension ring stand apart for installation.
For older style HOOK type suspension please specify SHORTER bands in comment box. (first image)
Regular bands are designed for the black Reamer Suspension/Tension Lug. (second image)
PRICE IS PER SINGLE BAND
Cymbal Attachment for one player playing cymbal and bass drum at the same time. Very strong, durable and silent.
It installs and removes very quickly. The insulated threaded rod will accommodate older cymbals with smaller center holes too.
Humidifier rod with sponges , receiving hardware, and curved wood backing plate ( to be glued inside your Bass Drum shell if it is too thin). I include a paper template to be used to mark the drilling locations.
You'll need a drill, 2" Hole bit and 1/8 " bit , epoxy cement, a flat blade or phillips screw driver, and a steady hand.
When there is low humidty in the air , your calfskin drum heads may get too tight to play.
Rather than loosening the tuning rods a lot and risk losing the "collar" on the calfskin drum head , these Humidifier Rods with Sponges prevent your calf skin drum heads from getting too tight and allow a greater ease of tuning.
I install them in all my Concert Bass Drums. I use materials that will not rust.
They are effective when installed about 4" from the head.
For a Bass Drum with two calf heads I recommend 2 humidifiers. Each about 4" from each head.
To use them after installation , you simply soak the sponges in water ( under a faucet) , SQUEEZE OUT THE EXCESS WATER ( so it is not dripping) and put back in the drum. It takes 20" - 30 " to start affecting the calf skin drum head.
If it is dry enough in your concert hall or region to merit the use of the Humidifier then its' use will probably not over humidify your calf skin heads.
Please mention the diameter of your Bass Drum in the comment box when ordering. (ie. 36", 34",32' 30",28" etc.)
Sponges.
Price includes 8 to replace old worn out sponges on a Bass Drum Humidifier Rod. These are dried ,cut, and drilled to size so you simply slip them on your Humidifier Rod. This amount ( 8 ) will fill one 30 to 36 inch rod.
I include a new lock nut to replace your old one on the end of the humidifier rod.
Alan Abel Generation II Suspension / Swivel / Height Adjustable Bass Drum Stand.
PAS Hall of Fame percussionist Alan Abel invented the suspended swivel bass drum stand in 1958 while in the Philadelphia Orchestra. Alan asked me to continue making the stands in 2013.
In keeping with his tradition of innovation the Abel Generation II is strong, smooth, silent and durable.
There is no other commercially available bass drum stand that can compare to the simplicity, function, strength, ease of use, durability, and finish of this stand.
Made for Bass Drums 28”, 30", 32", 34" and 36” inches in diameter.
