Custom Drums

The Grand Republic is the signature drum of Drummer's Service, W. H. Reamer and A. L. Reamer. To hear the music of the Grand Republic is to experience the unique sound and subtle refinements gleaned from decades of drum making. To see the Grand Republic is to behold an heirloom quality instrument. With a shell size of 17" diameter and 21" deep, the Grand Republic Drum is emblazoned with a hand painted variation of the United States Seal.

Drummer's Service constructs drum shells with various types of wood and fabricates the highly polished and lacquered brass parts and stainless steel carry plate. Leather ears are customized with complementary color shades and embossments. Drummer's Service uses calf or plastic heads, and natural fiber or synthetic rope for tensioning. Our snare butt design allows for combinations of gut sizes and for adjustment of each snare strand for optimum dynamic response and sound.

Drummer's Service also crafts reproductions of drums, such as the Tambour de Provencal and the State Garrison Regiment (SGR) tack design from Colonial Williamsburg, and restores and refurbishes antique drums for museums and collectors. Name scrolls and banners can be customized.
